Industrial Multi-craft Mechanic
This job is a 12 hour nightshift position, 4 days on 4 days off.
Essential Functions
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on a production line.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Disassemble machinery and equipment when there is a problem
- Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components. This includes belts, bearings, chains, hydraulics, boilers, pneumatic air cylinders, and valves.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Fabricates/repairs parts by using machine shop instrumentation, Welding and cutting equipment.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, straightedges and all basic electric power tools.
- Clean and lubricate equipment or machinery.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Employee will be working indoors and outdoors; no climate control. Employee will be exposed to increased temperatures due to working near and performing maintenance on hot asphalt vessels/piping, steam piping, and hot oil piping.
